Lyons Reservoir and Dam – Fishing, Hiking, Swimming, Biking and Rafting

Lyons Reservoir is located in Tuolumne county in Northern California. The Stanislaus River runs through Lyons Reservoir and contains a great area for whitewater rafting and fishing. For something to do on land, Lyons Reservoir is a great place for bike riders of all experience levels. Riding around the reservoir is an easy ride and entirely flat. For the more experienced biker, try out the trails connecting to the trail around the lake. The area contains gorgeous views of the Sierra Nevada Foothills and pines of the area. It is also one of the key lakes that provide drinking water to Tuolumne county.

To get to Lyons Reservoir from Sonora, take HWY 108 past Twain Harte. Take a left on Confidence South Fork Rd. Just past Sugarpine Rd look to your right at the gate. Go through the gate and ride along the ditch road. It is about 15 minutes from Twain Harte, near Long Barn
